Mazda EZ-60 Electric SUV Arrives in Chinese Showrooms
Mazda has begun delivering the EZ-60 electric SUV to stores across China for static display. The car was developed in partnership with Changan Automobile. Potential buyers can now check out the EZ-60 in showrooms in major Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu.
The Mazda EZ-60 electric SUV production model retains most of the design elements of last year's Arata concept, including functional air vents integrated into the D-pillars to improve aerodynamics. A new purple exterior color option uses special pigments that change appearance in different lighting conditions. The interior features a 26.45-inch curved touchscreen and a 100-inch augmented reality head-up display, with Nappa leather seats with heating, ventilation and massage functions.
Mazda offers two powertrain options for the Chinese market. The all-electric version uses a 190kW motor and CATL lithium iron phosphate batteries, offering a range of 600 km under China's CLTC test cycle, with 800V fast-charging capability. The extended-range model combines a smaller battery with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, achieving a total range of more than 1,300 km.
The EZ-60 incorporates several China-specific features, including voice recognition in multiple dialects and integration of local apps. The safety system has been tuned for China's road conditions, with improved algorithms for detecting pedestrians and cyclists.
Since pre-orders began under the program in April, Mazda Motors has recorded more than 20,000 pre-orders in China, with particular interest in the extended-range hybrid vehicle. But Mazda plans to launch a modified version of the EZ-60 to other markets starting in 2026, named the Mazda CX-6e.
