Beijing Hyundai's First Pure Electric SUV Elexio Global Debut

Beijing Hyundai's first SUV built on a pure electric platform, Elexio, was launched globally, marking an important step in the company's "electrification transformation" strategy. Elexio has been developed for five years and is positioned as a "new force of quality", combining modern aesthetics, advanced technology and excellent quality. This new SUV is expected to be launched in the third quarter of this year.

Elexio has a unique exterior design designed specifically for electric vehicles. The design of the daytime running lights is inspired by crystal and incorporates the number "8" (which is considered an auspicious number in China). The through-type light strip and illuminated logo enhance recognition and a sense of technology. The front bumper adopts a tough two-color design, highlighting the "tough and high-end" style.

The side profile of Elexio has clear layers of lines and distinct wheel arches, full of power and muscularity. Design elements include a unique diagonal floating roof on the D-pillar, hidden door handles and stylish 20-inch multi-spoke wheels. The tail design echoes the front, with a through-type taillight design and a hidden rear wiper for a more simple look. The Hyundai logo is integrated into the rear window.

In terms of interior, although it has not yet been fully exposed, it is expected to adopt a simple design, focus on the intelligent modern interface, and remove the physical buttons on the dashboard. The cockpit will adopt high-end color matching, modern seats and a wraparound cockpit design to enhance the sense of luxury and technology. Elexio will be equipped with a new concept driving information display equipped with Qualcomm 8295P chip, supporting online navigation, entertainment, smartphone connection, OTA update, voice interaction and remote control.

In terms of intelligent driving assistance, Elexio will provide an L2+ system with highway navigation function. Beijing Hyundai plans to upgrade the automatic assisted driving function and introduce the memory parking function in 2025, and is expected to launch the city assisted driving function in 2026. The car will use Huawei Harmonyos intelligent travel solution to achieve these functions.

Elexio is built on the Hyundai Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). The range is over 700 kilometers and it supports fast charging, which can charge the battery from 30% to 80% in just 27 minutes.
