How to Choose a Used Dump Truck?
A dump truck is a vehicle that unloads goods itself using hydraulic or mechanical lifting. It is also called a tipper truck. It consists of a chassis, hydraulic lifting mechanism, cargo box, and power take-off device.
The value of used dump trucks varies greatly depending on their type, grade, manufacturer, and even color. Therefore, it is essential to do your research before buying and find out the average transaction price of the dump truck model you want. In addition, the price of a dump truck is closely related to its specific condition. Therefore, besides having a knowledgeable friend accompany you when buying, you also need to master some skills to assess the condition of dump trucks.
I. Look for signs of accidents. Some used dump trucks are sold after being involved in major accidents. Generally, accidents involving dump trucks will show signs at the front, where critical components such as the engine are located. Therefore, you should carefully check the condition of the front. You can observe whether the chassis beams are symmetrical, whether the bolts securing the electric fan and radiator have been re-drilled, and whether the windshield rubber seals have been reinstalled. Generally speaking, it's best to avoid buying accident-damaged dump trucks, while accident marks on the rear of a dump truck are generally not a major issue for its use.

Second, check the condition of the dump truck body. Don't be misled by the appearance of the dump truck. Patiently walk around the dump truck body several times, carefully observing the rust on the mudguards and the lower edge of the dump truck doors. Generally, the plates in these areas only start to rust after the fourth year of use; the more severe the rust, the longer the service life.
Third, check the engine's appearance and operation.
The engine is the "heart" of the dump truck. The condition of a dump truck largely refers to the condition of the engine, specifically the wear of the cylinder liners, pistons, and piston rings. Generally, a well-maintained dump truck engine starts easily, idles smoothly without irregular vibrations, and shows no leaks of oil, water, or air from the oil pan, cylinder head gasket, or spark plugs. Black exhaust indicates problems with the carburetor, high-voltage circuit, or combustion system; blue exhaust suggests severely worn piston rings and oil entering the combustion chamber.
Fourth, check the tire wear. The age of a dump truck is directly proportional to its mileage; lower mileage generally indicates better condition. However, sellers of used dump trucks often calibrate the odometer to a limited reading to suggest excellent condition. Since a tire costs around 300-500 yuan, the original owner wouldn't spend a large sum to replace it. Therefore, checking the odometer and tire wear can roughly determine the overall condition of a used dump truck.
