New Xpeng Motors P7 Coming Soon
The new generation of Xpeng Motors P7 is about to be officially launched. The original P7 was a key part of Xpeng's early product lineup, and this redesigned model is designed to compete more directly with rivals such as Xiaomi SU7 and Tesla model 3 in the mid-to-large electric fastback segment.
Exterior Design
The updated P7 adopts Xpeng's latest design language, with a more angular and rugged appearance. The front end replaces the previous smooth grille with a sharper and more muscular layout. The downward-sloping hood enhances the aggressive look, and a full-width light bar connects the iconic X-shaped headlight cluster.
The rear of the vehicle features a sloping fastback roofline and full-width taillights with X-shaped details that echo the design of the headlights. Hidden door handles and new double four-spoke alloy wheels help reduce aerodynamic drag.

The vehicle's exterior dimensions are 5017mm long, 1970mm wide, 1427mm high, and a 3008mm wheelbase, which puts it squarely in the mid-to-large sedan category.
Interior and Features
The vehicle's interior cabin will feature a minimalist layout, with a compact steering wheel, a narrow instrument display, and a large central floating touchscreen. A co-pilot display may also be included, although it is partially obscured in the test images.
The new P7 is expected to feature advanced navigation and driver assistance features, as well as a wireless charging pad. Xpeng's driver assistance system still relies on a vision-based architecture, although details about the number of sensors and chipsets have not yet been confirmed.
Powertrain and Charging
Xpeng Motors has confirmed that the new P7 will be available in both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) models. The RWD version will use a 270kW motor, while the AWD version will combine the front 167kW motor with a rear 270kW unit, bringing the total system output to 437kW.
Battery options include 74.9 kWh and 92.2 kWh packs. Based on China's CLTC test cycle, range options will be 702 km for the base RWD model, 820 km for the long-range RWD version, and 750 km for the AWD variant.

All versions will support Xpeng's 800V silicon carbide high-voltage platform and offer 5C fast charging capabilities. For reference, the Xpeng G7 uses 5C charging technology and can charge from 0% to 436 km in 10 minutes.
The original Xpeng P7, launched in 2020, is one of the company's most well-known models. As China's electric vehicle market becomes increasingly competitive, this redesigned P7 could play a key role in Xpeng's efforts to regain market share.
The model is expected to be officially launched in August 2025. Final pricing, trim levels, and interior specifications are likely to be announced closer to that date.
